Welcome to LET’S DANCE
Let’s Dance is our Year 1 specific dance program to cater to the needs and abilities of Year 1 students at an age appropriate level.
Our Let’s Dance program follows the familiarity of our Little Stars Program to support the children’s transition out of the Pre-School program, but with increased difficulty to extend their dancing ability, technique and love for dance.
Through the Let’s Dance program there are 3 classes to suit the needs, interests and abilities of all of our year 1 dancers.

Let’s Ballet
LET’S BALLET is a 30 minute technique class, introducing young
students to the foundational steps, terminology and magic of the
Ballet discipline.
Combining fun and education this class will
encourage learning through repetition and upbeat exercises to
the backdrop of familiar songs and music.
Let’s Dance
LET’S DANCE is our amazing program for Year 1 students at
Universal Dance and Performance. A step up from our Pre-
Primary program this class is the official introduction to more
challenging dance technique and skills.
A one hour combination
of Jazz, Hip Hop & Tap this class teaches foundational steps and
technique for each genre as well as confidence, independence &
team work.

Let’s Acrobats
LET’S ACROBATS introduces young dancers to new Acrobat
tumbles, balances and skills. Using a variety of equipment
students are taught skills in a safe environment through strength
and flexibility training.
Dancers set goals and work towards these
skills each lesson through fun drills & matwork.
Musical Theatre
Although separate to the specific Year 1 program, Year 1 students are also able to be involved in our Year 1-4 Musical Theatre Classes.
Our Musical Theatre class combines dance, acting, and storytelling to bring the stage to life. Inspired by Broadway-style performances, this class encourages students to develop strong stage presence, expressive movement, and confident character work.
Dancers learn theatrical choreography set to age-appropriate songs from popular musicals, while also building, coordination, a love for the arts and musicality. Emphasis is placed on facial expressions, projection, and connecting with an audience to create engaging and dynamic performances.
Perfect for performers who love to act as much as they love to dance, Musical Theatre helps students grow in confidence, creativity, and teamwork — all while having fun and shining in the spotlight.
